While researching Inuit #Sealfies, I found this new (2017) book titled “Selfie Citizenship” edited by Adi Kuntsman. It’s accessible via McMaster’s library here.
In the book, Adi Kuntsman offers the concept of ‘selfie citizenship’, which they claim is about “ordinary citizens”, their selfie practices, and their wider interactions with “algorithmic visibility, large-scale dataisation, globalised participatory politics and biometric governance” (np). Its chapters seem to be productive contributions to the greater conversations about selfies and participation, surveillance, and witnessing.
